Explosions in the Sky w/Octopus Project 1/28 @ the Engine Room, Houston, Tx

feelin' kinda: complacent
i be jammin': Failure - Golden
Anyone going to see Explosions in the Sky on the 28th this month at the Engine room. These guys are most amazing. Incredible live performance. Progressive post rock fury. I guess fury would be a bad word to tag on a description of them. More like a melodic journey through time and space, or something of that nature.
Anyway, I had a chance to see them last year at Fat Cats here in houston and was completely blown away. They are playing with the Octopus Project who's always fun. I recommend everyone check them out.
If you are planning on going to the show let me know. I might need a ride after the show and I live right down the street, I can toss some gas money no problem.
FYI. From what I understand its about to sell out, so if you dont' have tickets I would recommend getting them ASAP.

Here's a couple of tracks.

Explosions in the Sky - "Magic hours"
The Octopus Project - The Way Things Go

(International) Noise Conspiracy show

I went and saw these guys at Walter's on Washington here in Houston last night. Great show. Im always dissapointed bands like this dont fill up venues esp larger one, but what else can you expect from a fickle houston base full of scenesters. Wheres the punk rock culture in a corporate town like this. Wheres the music/art crowd. Maybe cus it was on a wednesday and Xiu Xiu was playing across town. eh.
Check out the (international) noise conspiracy if youve havent already. They got a message. How often do you see that in music nowadays.

Any ways, I caught a band from canada called Danko Jones that opened up for them. Pure rock fury. They were fun and funny. Made up for me missing Clutch last month. Check em out, Heres a couple tracks from their site.
